Robert Baillie Douglas, DD, missionary in Western India Who was Who 1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 071363457X〕 in Glasgow on 11 September 1911 and educated at Glasgow Academy〔(Douglas Archives )〕 and the University of Glasgow. Licensed to preach by the Presbytery of Glasgow in 1935 he was Assistant Minister at Govan Old Parish Church until 1939. He was also Minister at St John’s Leven, North Leith Parish Church and Dundee Parish Church (St Mary's) during his long career. He was Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland from 1970 to 1971 and Chapel Royal from 1974 until 1981.〔The Times, Wednesday, Jan 23, 1974; pg. 16; Issue 58995; col D '' Church news''〕 An Honorary Chaplain to the Queen, he died on 4 January 1986. ==Notes==
